Egyptian Enchantments

Updated: Dec 1, 2024

My family and I first visited Egypt in 2015. Before our excursions, I had bought my first camera, a Nikon D7000 with my birthday savings. My passion for photography had sparked in the mystical land of the Nile and its infinite photo ops. This photo story seeks to inspire your next trip to the enchanting Egypt!

We visited during the month of October for about 10 days when the weather was exquisite for outdoor adventures. During our time, we stayed at Ramses Hilton, offering a beautiful view of the Nile and had booked a three-day private tour with Hilton that included a day trip to Alexandria. Our guide was staggeringly knowledgable and provided exceptional context behind each site photographed in this series.

Egypt is rich in unique and alluring history, culture, art, and architecture. Cairo, the bustling capital, is a must-visit city, alongside Alexandria, Luxor, and Aswan. We have not yet had the privilege to embody our inner Egyptologists in Luxor or Aswan, for which another visit to the Pharaonic land is due.

Below is a portrait of Muhammad and his horse, Michael Jackson, who very kindly guided us to the Ancient Pyramids. During your visit to Egypt, you will notice all members of families, including children, working.

From the Ancient Pyramids to Khan el-Khalili, there are a multitude of sites and attractions to reach. Streets of Cairo are always buzzing with a crowd. Thus, I highly recommend visiting or touring with exceptional company or a guide.
